US chain In-N-Out Burger launches pop-up store at Canberra’s Walt & Burley on Kingston Foreshore for one day only

American fast food chain In-N-Out Burger is bringing its popular menu down under again — for one day only.

Diners can get their hands on the cult American favourite in Canberra on Wednesday — but get in quick, it is only while stocks last.

The pop-up will be set up at gastropub Walt & Burley along the Kingston Foreshore.

Australians will be able to try the US family-owned burger joint’s popular range from 9am to 3pm, or until sold out.

Pop-up stores across the country draw huge crowds every year, with In-N-Out Burger products previously selling out in just 30 minutes.

Wednesday will be the first time the burger chain has appeared in Canberra, after hosting a pop-up in Melbourne last year and Perth and Sydney in 2022.

Hundreds of eager customers queued for more than an hour to get their hands on some of the chain’s most famous menu items, including the Double-Double and Animal Style burgers.

In-N-Out Burger founder Harry Snyder opened California’s first drive-thru hamburger stand in 1948.

Every day before dawn, he visited the markets to pick out fresh ingredients, which he prepared by hand.

The chain celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023, with 394 restaurants open throughout the US.

There are no plans to open a permanent store Down Under.
