The Morning Show co-host Kylie Gillies has surprised her Instagram followers with an unexpected outfit detail.
The fashion-loving TV presenter looked particularly vibrant on Thursday’s show, wearing a hot pink blazer with a matching button-down shirt and mini-skirt.

But it wasn’t the hot pink hue or the fact that Kylie’s above-the-knee skirt showed off her tanned, toned legs that most people commented on.
It was the fact that Kylie had paired a rather dressy look with a fairly casual shoe choice — a pair of sporty white sneakers.
However, there was a particular reason why Kylie was going for comfy sneakers rather than a pair of strappy heels — she suffered a fractured toe during a recent holiday in Europe.
“It’s all in the details,” Kylie had captioned her outfit post, noting that the skirt was from Pink Official, the jacket from Zara and the sneakers from Frankie4 Footwear.
She also gave a shout-out to her Seven stylist, Natalie Shehata, and hair and makeup artist Melissa Gigliotti.
Fans loved the entire look.
“Pretty in pink!” one fan wrote, while another called it a “stunning outfit”.
But most of the attention was focused on Kylie’s choice of footwear.
“I’m loving your sneakers, much more comfy than heels,” one fan wrote.
“Loving the sneakers, they are so perfect with your outfit. Still classy!” noted another.
“Sneakers are such a vibe! Love it,” enthused a third.
“You could rock anything,” one follower declared.
“You are absolutely gorgeous inside and out!”
One fan said Kylie’s look reminded them of Jerry Seinfeld because he always wore white sneakers with everything.
However several fans were aware that Kylie had a foot injury, hence the sneaker choice.
“Even the broken foot shoes work,” one fan wrote, slightly miscalculating the actual foot injury Kylie had suffered.
In January, The Morning Show presenter explained that she fractured her toe after tripping over at a party for her brother-in-law’s cat (yes, you read that right).
“I had a big long ballet skirt because I wanted to look good for my brother-in-law’s cat’s birthday. So I had a beautiful long tulle skirt on — It was beautiful,” Kylie said.
Going down the stairs at her in-law’s Vienna apartment, Kylie tripped, only to laugh off the injury at the time.
“I came down the stairs, my foot got stuck, and I’ve been hobbling for two and half weeks,” she explained.
Despite the pain, the presenter toughed it out, only to see a doctor yesterday.
“The pain was so bad, I went and got an X-ray yesterday — and it’s the little toe.”
The presenter flashed up her X-ray, with co-host Larry Emdur and others cooing over the fracture.
“I’ve been here on the show in my high heels because I wanted to look good for the last two weeks,” Kylie said, laughing off the injury.
Larry couldn’t help but make light of the situation.
“Just thinking headlines, ‘TV star falls down at cat’s birthday party’,” he said.
“Correct — that is entirely the truth,” Kylie shot back.
Kylie had just returned from an emotional reunion with her son Gus, 21, who has been travelling around Europe on a gap year from university.
Heartwarmingly, mother and son managed to reunite in Vienna, then took a side trip to Berlin together.
Sharing a selfie with Gus, both rugged up for the European winter, Kylie wrote: “Auf Wiedersehen Berlin. You were Wunderbar.”
“48-hour side-trip with Gus to this incredible city,” she added.
“Beautiful, historic … cold!”
Just days earlier, she had a joyful reunion with Gus in Vienna, sharing a sweet photo of the pair hugging as they reunited.
