The Chase star Issa Schultz unveils new look during The Morning Show interview

One of the biggest stars of game show The Chase has appeared on The Morning Show, looking almost unrecognisable.

The ‘Supernerd’ Issa Schultz joined Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur on Tuesday morning without his trademark suit and bow tie, opting for a pale blue button-down Lacoste shirt for the interview.

The star was asked about the show’s WhatsApp group started by co-star Mara Lejins, which he said was a “great for bonding” tool for the competitive TV stars.

“(It’s) so much fun — we talk about all sorts of nonsense — maybe about yourself (Larry),” Schultz said.

“It’s really a great bonding thing — she’s a wonderful person bringing us together, she’s teaching us so much too.

“She’s young and hip — I’m old and with a struggling hip — (so) it’s just a real different dynamic.

“She’s a lovely person.”

Schultz was asked if he was still busting moves after his stint on Dancing With The Stars last year, alongside professional dancer Lily Cornish.

“I get asked that question so much on the streets — but a lot of (the moves) are pairing,” he said.

“I’ll try to do something on my own (and) they think I’m doing the robot.”

Schultz now features in the series The Chase: Double Trouble.

The beloved TV star spoke to 7NEWS about his persona on Monday, saying he didn’t mind his trademark nerdy costume.

“(The show) did ask a long time ago if I minded wearing a bow tie, and I thought hard about that. And I realised, no, I think they’re cool, I think they’re great,” he said.

“It was around the time that Doctor Who was Matt Smith, and he wore a bow tie as Doctor Who. Nowadays, it’s hip. I never thought I’d be hip in my life.”

The TV star went on to say, before he started on the show, he worked in finance and IT.

“Before I was a Chaser, I worked in finance and IT. I was at Commonwealth Bank and Macquarie Bank for many years, just sort of doing processing stuff, and I enjoyed that,” he said.

“I’m a very sort of method start-to-finish guy, so that suited my mindset.

“But you know, this happily took over because I wanted to do both jobs, but this is the full-time (role) now.

“This takes all my time up. I get to read and study for a job!”
