Especially after seeing Patrick Mahomes’ not-so-chiseled physique after Sunday’s AFC Championship Game win.

The NFL posted a video on social media of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrating their win over the Baltimore Ravens to earn a trip back to the Super Bowl, complete with speeches from coach Andy Reid and a shirtless Mahomes.

While Reid and Mahomes did a great job of firing up the team after the big win and setting a tone for the coming Super Bowl, the one thing that fans can’t seem to get over is the all-pro QB’s “dad bod.”

“Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!? 🤣🤣🤣 #DadBodSZN,” Mahomes tweeted on Wednesday.

“Like i got kids!!!! @Chiefs @insidetheNFL @NFL 🤣🤣🤣,” the 28-year-old father of two wrote in a follow-up.

One person on X (formerly known as Twitter) quipped “Patrick Mahomes is a world class athlete and he has a beer gut,” while another replied that “Mahomes likes the Coors Lights.”

One hater simply dubbed the former NFL MVP “Fat Mahomes.”

Of course, on the other side of things many fans came to the superstar’s defence.

“Look @PatrickMahomes — most of us women are absolutely IN LOVE WITH AND PREFER a Dad Bod. You’re doing just fine, Goat,” one supporter posted.

“You and @JasonKelce doing more for dad bods than anyone in history. Doing the lord’s work,” another added.

Jason Kelce, the brother of Chiefs star tight end/Taylor Swift boyfriend Travis Kelce, was seen celebrating wildly during the Chiefs-Bills game, having shed his shirt despite the frigid conditions.

But really, if anything, Mahomes should be an inspiration to all dads out there. Mahomes and wife Brittany have two children — daughter Sterling Skye, who turns 3 later this month, and son Bronze, who is one year old.

“I never thought seeing Mahomes shirtless would make me feel better about how I look shirtless,” one user replied.

While the vast majority of social media users can only dream of accomplishing what Mahomes has, at least we know he’s a bit more like the average person than it previously seemed.

And Mahomes and the Chiefs will get a chance to add to their legacy on Feb. 11, when they take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XL in Las Vegas.
