We’ve seen some wild things happen to car prices these last few years. Cars both new and used have seen prices and values fluctuate. One thing is forever constant though, and that’s the seller who’s going to remain firm in the believe that they know what they have, so they can ask for plenty of money. Now, someone is doing it with what’s possibly the highest mileage Ford Explorer in the country.

Spotted in a tweet from @jffxns, someone out there is selling a 2014 Ford Explorer Sport on what looks to be Facebook Marketplace. There are tons of these things for sale on any number of car buying sites, and for some reason, they all have high miles. The owners of these things drove them. But this particular Explorer takes the cake — and blows up the bakery that made it.

This 2014 Explorer Sport has, according to the images from the screenshot, 892,614 miles. And the seller is asking $7,900 for it. This is wild for several reasons. First, it’s a decade-old Ecoboost engine with this kind of mileage. That’s impressive in itself. I don’t know what the former owner used to do, but they must have been on the road constantly. According to my own calculations, this thing was driven just under 245 miles per day to get this kind of mileage.

But that high mileage should make you question the price. A decade-old Explorer at this price wouldn’t raise any question in any other context. But this is a unique situation. This is a mileage level I have not seen on any Explorer before, especially on one powered by a 365-horsepower twin-turbo V6. I’d say the price is a couple of grand too much.

There’s no way this thing should cost more than $3,000 with this kind of mileage. Even Kelly Blue Book, which can sometimes be a weird indicator for vehicle prices, says this should be worth between $2,498 to $5,273 with this much use. The price may have been good enough for someone, though. In trying to search for the original listing, it’s gone. It looks like someone may have bit. All I can say is good luck whoever you are. You might need it
