Woolworths workers’ gobsmacking Easter egg act stuns shoppers

A Woolworths customer has shared details of an unbelievable gesture by staff at her local store.

Sharing on Facebook, the Melbourne shopper said she was stunned when team members at the Stud Park store handed her an unexpected gift.

The surprise present was a large box filled with scores of Easter eggs — including a Cadbury bunny and egg, a Malteser Easter chocolate and handfuls of mini Red Tulip eggs.

The gesture was part of Woolworths commitment to hand out gifts and expensive food items to customers as random acts of kindness.

Over the years, staff at various stores around the country have gifted whole hams to shoppers at Christmas, handed out bunches of flowers and paid for entire grocery bills on other public holidays.

With Easter just weeks away, Woolies shoppers should keep their eye open for staff handing out more Easter hampers at their local stores.

A photo posted by the shopper shows the large hamper — wrapped in cellophane — that she received inside her trolley.

“Thank you, Woolworths Stud Park,” she wrote on Facebook. “Was given it as a gift!”

A Woolworths spokesperson say the random acts are their way of saying thank you to shoppers.

“Our teams in-store love spreading kindness to our customers, whether that be through small gestures like a handwritten note, or a hamper of chocolates to help celebrate Easter,” the spokesperson said.

“It’s our way of saying thank you to our customers for shopping with us.”
