A woman found dead in a luxury room at Crown Towers in Burswood, Perth, has been identified as a talented and much-loved family lawyer.
WA’s legal community is in mourning after it emerged Alice McShera, 34, was allegedly murdered on Monday, triggering a homicide investigation.

Her body was discovered in a room at the five-star hotel in the city’s inner southeast just after 11am.
The man accused of the crime, Bibra Lake resident Cameron John Pearson, 42, was also allegedly found in the room with what police believe were self-inflicted wounds.
He was treated in hospital and discharged into police custody on Monday evening before being charged.
Pearson made a brief appearance in Perth Magistrates Court, which was packed with supporters of McShera and Pearson, on Tuesday dressed in a white boiler suit.
He was not required to enter a plea and was remanded in custody until an appearance at Stirling Magistrates Court on November 22.
It is understood the pair were in a domestic relationship.
‘Integral team member’
McShera’s colleagues at Murray Chambers in Perth’s CBD said they were devastated by the loss of “our respected and much-loved colleague and friend”.
“Alice was an experienced and very capable advocate who has been an integral part of the Murray Chambers family,” a statement from the firm said.
“The profession will be the poorer for her loss. We feel keenly for Alice’s family and friends at this time.”
Keegan Family Lawyers used social media to honour McShera, describing her as a strong woman and an amazing lawyer and barrister.
“You fought for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. You were a friend, a colleague and someone to aspire to. I cannot believe you have been taken from us,” the boutique family law practice said.
Police on Tuesday said security had gone to the room following calls from a family member trying to reach those in the suite.
Paramedics attempted to treat McShera but she could not be revived.
“(The woman) received head injuries that we believe were caused by a blunt instrument,” WA Police Inspector Geoff DeSanges told media.
He said it appeared there was “a passage of time” between the woman being injured and police being called.
“We believe the relationship was that of a domestic relationship. To the exact nature or duration of it, (it) will be subject of the investigation,” DeSanges said.
Crown Resorts said it was assisting authorities and supporting staff.
The $650 million Crown Towers includes 500 guest rooms and villas and was opened in 2016.
