Veteran Zak Jones sums up St Kilda’s disastrous performance against Western Bulldogs

St Kilda endured a nightmare against the Western Bulldogs on Thursday night with veteran Zak Jones summing up their disastrous performance after being subbed out.

The Saints, who were favourites heading into the contest, barely fired a shot as they conceded seven first-quarter goals on their way to a 60-point loss.

They were dominated in every facet of the game with coach Ross Lyon left searching for answers.

Midway through the third quarter, Jones was subbed out after collecting just three kicks, although one of those was a goal.

As Dan Butler entered the game, cameras picked up a frustrated Jones just shaking his head after taking his spot at the back of the bench.

“Sense of frustration there on the face of Zak Jones there,” Channel 7 commentator Dale Thomas said.

Jones was back in the side after missing last week’s loss to the GWS Giants.

But has now been subbed out for the second time after also failing to finish the win over Richmond.

Compounding the Saints’ disastrous night, Butler suffered what looked like a serious hamstring injury in the last term.

A late flurry prevented an even bigger margin, but the Dogs still ran out comfortable 60-point winners.
