Urgent recall for novelty waffle maker sold at Typo, Catch and Kogan over risk of electric shock

A novelty waffle make that can create Tetris block-shaped waffles is being recalled because it does not comply with Australian electrical standards.

The William Valentine Tetris Tetrimino waffle maker was sold between August and November 2023 online and in-stores including Typo, Catch and Kogan.

Product Safety Australia warned customers who purchased the product to stop using it immediately because they are at risk of serious injury or death from electric shock.

“This product does not comply with the relevant electrical standard,” the recall notice said.

“There is no insulation on the base of the power adapted plug contact pins”

Customers can return the waffle maker to its place of purchase for a full refund.
