Two dead after plane crashes into power lines in NSW

A man and a young boy have died in a light plane crash 25km west of Grafton in the northeast of NSW.

Emergency services were called to Winegrove Rd in Lilydale at 8.50am on Tuesday following reports a light plane had crashed into power lines. It’s understood the plane then nose-dived into a rocky riverbed and caught alight.

A nurse camping nearby told 7NEWS she heard the impact and went to help, but there was “nothing she could do”.

Police, NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, and NSW State Emergency Services attended the scene.

”More information will be provided as it becomes available,” a spokesperson from the Northern Region Command said.

Grafton detectives are investigating.
