Trans actress Tommy Dorfman loses it on Delta staff for ‘misgendering’

A video of transgender actress Tommy Dorfman has gone viral after she accused Delta Air Lines employees of “intentionally” misgendering her.

Dorfman was at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, waiting to board a flight to Atlanta when the incident occurred.

The 13 Reasons Why star shared a 30-second clip to her TikTok, showing part of the blowup in which she aimed her ire at several staffers, accusing them of “intentionally” misgendering her “multiple” times.

Footage shows the 31-year-old arguing with a male employee who initially refers to her as a woman before correcting himself and calling her “he.”

In the since-deleted video, Dorfman reprimands the employees, saying, “You just misgendered me again. Multiple times, both of you have.”

The Delta employee barely blinks and said his use of pronouns “wasn’t intentional. But if you want to take it personal. That’s OK.”

Dorfman accused his female colleague, who is off-camera, of “intentionally” misgendering her twice, but the woman is heard denying it.

“You said ‘he’ and then you said ‘she,’” the actress reiterated to the man, who responded by saying Dorfman was “being condescending.”

He added: “If you want to continue, I’ll have Port Authority escort you out the building right this moment if you want to play that game with me. Which if you’d like to continue three days before Christmas, I really don’t mind.”

Dorfman sighs before the clip ends.

The video was captioned, “Didn’t realize it was condescending to flag a human rights violation after another employee misgendered me incessantly.”

Dorfman, best known for playing Ryan Shaver in the Netflix series, came out as a trans woman in 2021.

Delta said in a statement to Newsweek that it is “aware of the video” and looking into the incident.
