Three more men charged over riots after Sydney church stabbing attack

Three more men have been charged over a riot outside a Wakeley church after a teenager’s alleged terror stabbing attack.

NSW Police said a total of 14 men have now been charged after a riot broke out on April 15 when Assyrian preacher Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was allegedly stabbed by a 16-year-old boy.

Police investigators executed search warrants in Liverpool, Hinchinbrook, Fairfield, Austral and Wetherill Park on Monday targeting people allegedly present during the riot.

Three men aged 25, 31 and 40 were charged with riot on Monday.

The 31-year-old was also charged with intimidating a police officer and aggravated break and enter.

The 40-year-old was charged with assaulting a police officer during public disorder, causing bodily harm and aggravated break and enter with intent.

All three men were refused police bail and appeared in local court on Monday.

NSW police said investigations into the riot were on going.
