Now, she’s changed it up again, wowing her fans via a new Instagram post.

“Feeling so blessed, so proud, so grounded, so inspired 💖,” she wrote on Tuesday.

“How are you feeling this week fam?”

In the accompanying photo, Mauboy is sporting a bright, vivid red hair colour — and fans went wild over the new look.

“This red on you!!” exclaimed one follower, adding a fire emoji.

“And, feeling good and ready for the new album sissy!”

“OMG @jessicamauboy – this hair colour is on point ❤️” wrote another.

“That hair colour is 🔥and I’m feeling good today. Thank you for asking 🥰,” added a third.

“Beautiful lady inside and out,” one fan said.

Gushed another: “Sis this hair colour on you is stunning!! 😍.”

“It’s the hair for me … stunning. Not to mention the best vocalist in the country 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍,” declared one follower.

The last time Mauboy changed up her look was for the ARIA Awards in November last year, where she debuted a copper orange hue.

Taking to Instagram, the singer wrote that she was “so happy to be back at the ARIAs”.

“And for this year I wanted to bring a feminine look with an edge, so big shoutout to my beautiful creative team,” she added.

“Love your hair,” Jesinta Franklin wrote in the comments.

“Slaaaayyyyy bestie the hair looks stunning!!!” another commenter said.

Mauboy’s hairstylist Ash Croker teased the new look on their Instagram before the ceremony, writing: “Can’t deal (with) Jessica Mauboy today I had some fun transforming this beauty.”

All grown up

It’s hard to believe that the glamorous, stage-commanding performer of today was once a shy Darwin teenager, nervously waiting to audition on Australian Idol in 2006.

Back then, the young woman sang I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston in front of Marcia Hines, Mark Holden and Kyle Sandilands, who went to the Northern Territory to hear her sing.

Taking on any Whitney song, especially at the tender age of 16, seemed like an immense hill to climb — but Mauboy smashed it out of the park.

It was an immediate yes from all three judges, effectively kick-starting her career.

Although Mauboy didn’t win the competition — that year’s Idol was Damien Leith — she scored a recording contract with Sony.

Her debut album Been Waiting was the second-highest selling album of 2009 and produced the number-one single, Burn.

Many more albums — and hits — were to follow, from Pop a Bottle (Fill Me Up) and Can I Get A Moment? to Never Be The Same.

All the while, the Aussie pop sensation has continued to experiment with her look, from her fashion choices through to her hairstyles.

But one thing that hasn’t changed over the years is her commitment to body positivity.

Perhaps that stems from the moment when, aged 16, she was told by Sandilands that she needed to “lose the jelly belly.”

Hitting back in an interview after that controversial moment, Mauboy said: “Having curves is one of my favourite things.”

The multi-talented performer has cited Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez as major inspirations, calling Beyonce “magnificent” and “so inspiring”.

And it seems Mauboy’s fans find her “so inspiring”, too.

“You look fantastic, Jess. Life is what you make it. Stay positive peeps 👏❤️❤️❤️,” one fan wrote.

“Love ya Jess … you are an amazing singer and performer,” added another.

Added a third: “Just beautiful, as always.”
