The Royal Family Attends Easter Mass—Without Prince William and Kate Middleton

This morning, the royal family attended their annual Easter mass at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

It was a smaller group than normal—the Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as their three children, sat out this year’s service. The family is spending the holiday privately after the princess revealed she is undergoing treatment for cancer.

However, King Charles III did make a noticeable appearance. Back in February, the king shared that he also had been diagnosed with cancer and would need to scale back his public-facing duties. This was his first major appearance since the announcement of the news. Attending alongside him was Queen Consort Camilla, as well as Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Due to medical advice, the king and queen sat away from other members of the family to minimize Charles’s interactions with others. The king did, however, greet the clergy in front of St. George’s and wave to the crowd who had gathered to see the family walk by.
