Four Seasons Patisserie & Bakery was also inducted into the official Great Aussie Pie Hall of Fame.

Another West Aussie stand out was Jack’s Bakery in Halls Head which was crowned the winner of Australia’s best gourmet pie.

The Mandurah eatery took home the major title for its delicious lamb and red wine pie.

The popular Miami Bakehouse also earned a whopping 17 medals at the national pie competition.

Miami Bakehouse co-owner David Palmer said the competition allows the chefs to help perfect the pies.

“These competitions are so much more than the chance to win awards,” Mr Palmer said.

“They allow us to focus on honing our craft. The recipes we prepare, taste, and test during competition time help us perfect our pies for our customers, even when it’s just making small tweaks to how we bake.”

The competition — which rates pies based on appearance, pastry, filling and creativity — was established in 1989 with the aim of raising the quality standards of pies in Australia.
