Teenage boy dies after being hit by car in Armidale, NSW

A teenager has died after being hit by a car in the Northern Tablelands region of NSW.

The 17-year-old was hit on Old Inverell Rd in Armidale just before 8.50pm on Thursday.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, where he later died.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

“Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
