LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A series of bright lights were seen streaking across the Southern California skies overnight.

Beginning shortly before 2 a.m., NewsNation affiliate KTLA began receiving numerous calls about debris or meteors falling from the sky.

Video shared with KTLA by Alberto Guerrero showed multiple bright streaks of light flying over the city of Lakewood.

Calls and videos were also received from viewers in Anaheim, San Bernardino Ontario, Boyle Heights, Burbank, Ventura and Santa Barbara County.

There has been no official answer about where the lights came from, but there is some speculation.

A SpaceX rocket lifted off Monday night from Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County.

The SpaceX Falcon 9, which carried 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit, successfully launched around 7:30 p.m.

KTLA reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to see if the launch could be related but has not heard back.
