About 20 to 30 people worked at the venue.
Sou’West Brewery was forced into voluntary administration due to “cost-of-living pressures” that had “caused a financial impact on the business”, Knight said.
KordaMentha will be advertising expressions of interest for the purchase of the business.
“(We’re) hopeful that someone will buy it, it’s had a very extensive fit out … It’s got very high-end brewing equipment,” Knight said.
The brewery, which was first opened in May 2021, is part-owned by Carlton star Charlie Curnow, his brother and former Carlton player Ed Curnow and Port Adelaide midfielder Travis Boak.
The footy players are originally from the area, and are listed as shareholders in documents filed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
According to its Instagram, Sou’West was open on Sunday for Mother’s Day however on Google, the venue is now listed as permanently closed.
It is located at the former Quiksilver headquarters on Baines Cres in Torquay.
