Simkhai Pre-Fall 2024 Collection | Vogue

Seasonal, but not too time-of-year specific; that’s how Jonathan Simkhai approached his easy to wear, mostly monotone pre-fall collection. Softly draped bubble hems were carried over from fall, now shorter and dressier. For day, there was a white top-stitched shirt-style dress as well as a lighter, citrusy number drawn in at the waist with darts.

The marble prints in the collection were the result of a collaboration with Brittani Locke of The Soft Asylum. “It’s just nice to try something different and start from a different place,” said Simkhai, adding that he was “re-energized through other people’s passion and creativity.” Mysteriously, in Look 4 the organic swirls—often used by bookmakers—are digitized beyond recognition; happily they were let loose, to feathery effect, on a pretty scoop-neck sleeveless dress that falls into a gentle A-shape.
