Shot fired into aged care home in southern Sydney suburb of Bexley

A projectile has been shot through a window of an aged care home in Sydney’s south, sparking a police appeal for information.

About 11.20pm on Tuesday, police were called Estia Health Bexley on Eddystone Rd after staff found a hole in the window of the first-floor meal room.

All residents at the facility were asleep, and no staff were using the room at the time of the shooting.

No one was injured.

A steel ball bearing was found at the scene, which is believed to have caused the damage.

“At this time, there is no evidence to suggest the facility was targeted,” NSW Police said.

Locals have reported hearing motorbikes doing laps around the same time.

Investigations are ongoing.
