Pink opens up about back injury hours before first Australian concert

Only Pink would develop an injury during a break from her acrobatic-filled world tour.

Turns out the singer is much better off bringing the house down to thousands of screaming fans than taking time to rest her body.

“I sat down and threw my back out. I should not sit,” she told The Daily Telegraph.

“I was fine the entire tour and then I went home and sat for more than five minutes and I should have known better.”

However, the singer is recovered and ready to go for the Australian leg of her Summer Carnival tour, which kicks off Friday night.

But after performing her high-octane shows for decades, she said insurance brokers had pushed back on some of her stunts.

Although now 44 years old, Pink said she is the fittest she has been in her life.

“Many times they’ve tried to say no; I told them that they’re ageist,” she shared.

“I told them to look at all these dudes in the NFL who do all this stuff that’s crazy and you insure them.

“But somebody pointed out there are many of them but just one of me and I can’t be replaced.

“But still they didn’t have a problem with it when I was 25, and I’m stronger now, I’m in the best shape of my life.”

“I like being strong. I identify with my core, my intuition and my strength. I have wide, big feet, and I joke, ‘The better to kick you with.’ I’m short, close to the ground, fast, and agile,” she told Women’s Health in February 2023.

“I could pick up a car if I needed to.”

The performer said she rotated between HIIT classes, strength training with bodyweight and dumbbells, yoga, Pilates, cardio kickboxing, cardio sculpting with medium and light weights, and core-specific workouts.

Pink has been working with celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins for more than a decade, often through her online program.
