Out-of-control car hits pedestrians at Ramsgate Coles in Sydney’s southwest

Two pedestrians and several cars were hit as chaos erupted at a Coles carpark in Sydney’s southwest on Thursday morning.

An elderly man, who police say was driving the out-of-control car, and a pedestrian were taken to hospital.

The driver lost control of the white Hyundai SUV in the carpark of Ramsgate Coles on Grand Pde about 11.10am, and allegedly hit two pedestrians, aged 53 and 63. A number of cars were also damaged.

“The 78-year-old male driver of the SUV, along with the 53-year-old and 63-year-old pedestrians, were treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene,” NSW Police said.

“The 78-year-old driver and 53-year-old pedestrian were taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.”

Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information or dashcam video of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
