It’s almost summer, and you’re going to need a nice lightweight clog that lets your piggies breathe, but also shows the world how much of a fan of NASCAR you are. Thankfully America’s favorite stock car racing series has collaborated with America’s favorite rubber foot covering company. The Nascroc is here, and it looks cool as hell. There are black checkered flag Crocs for adults and blue units for kids, plus you can get a handful of branded Jibbitz charms to pop into them, too!
“Crocs is one of the most innovative and recognizable footwear brands in the world,” said Megan Malayter, NASCAR managing director of licensing and consumer products. “This collaboration gives NASCAR fans a fun, functional way to put their passion on display like never before and provides NASCAR another important opportunity to meet new consumers and potential fans where they are.”
Crocs have been around for several years, but the company really came into its own during the 2020 pandemic when the company’s sales more than doubled. The unorthodox lightweight clog carved out a niche for itself in the world of fashion, grabbing celebrity endorsements and brand collabs galore. The first Crocs were unveiled at the 2002 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, which feels much more in line with NASCAR than Balenciaga. This coming together with NASCAR is just a homecoming for the brand, catering to its original audience.
These clogs are super comfortable, and are frequently seen in restaurant kitchens and hospital halls as the footwear of choice for chefs and nurses who stay on their feet all day. It just makes sense, then, that NASCAR fans would love them, because when you’re up in the stands watching your faves battle for the front of the pack, you’ll have paid for the whole seat, but you’ll definitely be on your feet screaming at the top of your lungs.
