“Omg, I could never,” one person wrote.

“Why? That’s honestly bizarre,” another person commented.

“Why on earth would you do this?” another person asked.

Paulina then posted another video explaining her daughter had been sleeping in such a way she had lost her hair in certain places and there were bald patches.

“I thought if I shaved it all off … it can grow back longer and all the same length,” she said.

“I am not sure if that’s true or not but it’s also something we do because I am Lithuanian, and it is a common practice.”

But she clarified it was not for religious purposes.

Commenters came to the mother’s defence and agreed it may help baby’s hair grow back thicker.

“I did the same and now my two-year-old has the thickest hair,” one person wrote.

“My mum did this to me and I am so grateful,” another person said.
