Motorcyclist seriously injured after hit-and-run on Hume Hwy in Liverpool

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after he was dragged 100m down a highway in western Sydney in an alleged hit-and-run.

The rider was hit behind by a car at the intersection of the Hume Hwy and Hoxton Park Rd at Liverpool about 9.45pm on Tuesday, police said.

7NEWS understands the rider, a man aged 33, was dragged along the road by the sedan, which then fled the scene.

The rider was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

He is believed to be in a stable condition.

The highway was blocked for several hours as investigation teams scoured the scene for evidence, however, it has since reopened.

A crime scene was established.

Investigations are ongoing
