A search of the lake was then launched, with multiple emergency services in attendance.

The Sydney man’s body was then located about 7.55pm in the lake.

A woman was also transported from the lake to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, NSW Ambulance Inspector Craig Watkins said.

“This is a timely reminder for anyone in the water to swim to your ability,” Watkins said.

“Swim in the designated area, swim between the flags, and swim where there are lifeguards on duty.”
