Man stabbed, another hit by car in Bankstown road rage incident

A man has been stabbed and another hit by a car in a road rage incident in Western Sydney overnight.

The two men, aged 44 and 27, are both in hospital under police guard on Friday morning after a physical altercation broke out about 10.30pm Thursday in Bankstown.

7NEWS understands the fight broke out at the coroner of Waruda St and The Avenue when the 27-year-old allegedly stabbed the older man.

The 44-year-old is then understood to have returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, allegedly hitting the 27-year-old with his car in the process.

He then presented to Bankstown Police Station and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The 27-year-old was left at the scene until neighbours discovered the man and raised the alarm.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital.

No arrests or charges have been made at this stage.
