Remember the MG Cyberster? The little two-door drop-top that MG crowdfunded? Well that’s still on the way, but to celebrate Goodwood the company has put out a hardtop version as a concept: The MG Cyber GTS.
The Cyber GTS is a neat-looking concept, but it has a glaring problem: That name sucks. The Cyberster is neat in almost a camp way, retrofuturistic in a ’90s-view-of-today vein, but Cyber GTS just doesn’t hit the same. Clearly, between us all, we can do better.
In keeping with the Cyberster name on which the GTS is based, we’re likely looking at a name that comes from the Y2K Futurism school of aesthetics. Shiny, bright, smooth and sleek and chrome. Put on your best jungle mix and let the amen breaks inspire you.
We’re thinking cyber, we’re thinking a little bit corny, we’re thinking electronics in translucent cases. If we want to include those GTS letters, we could think Cyberghost or Cyberstalt (from gestalt). These names are worse than Cyber GTS, sure, but that’s why they’re more interesting.
With these themes in mind, this vision board of perfectly reflective chrome spheres hovering above water, what kinds of names can you think up for the Cyber GTS? Leave your best ideas below. Maybe MG will take notice and credit you for the change.
