A Sydney father has died after he was critically injured in a scooter crash in Bali.
Kevin Malligan, 24, suffered a brain bleed and fractures to his skull and neck when the moped he was a passenger on hit a pot-hole, launching him onto the road.
He was placed on life support in the BIMC Hospital in Nusa Dua following surgery to stop the bleeding and release the pressure on his brain.

His wife Leah Malligan, who is due to give birth next month, raced to Bali to be by her husband’s side before hundreds of generous donors helped secure him a medevac flight home to NSW last week.
Now, despite the best efforts of doctors, his family has said their final goodbyes and Malligan will never get to meet his second child.
“Our last hours with our son-in-law Kevin were this morning as we all said our goodbyes,” Malligan’s family wrote in an update to their GoFundMe.
“We had to go through a traumatic time that no wife, father, mother, dad and family should have to go through.
“Leah and his dad made the beautiful generous choice to donate his internal organs.
“We hope that all these organs are going to help and save as many people as possible to live a healthier life for themselves.
“We are forever grateful for so much support over these last two weeks from family, friends, work colleagues, community and complete strangers.
“Leah is overwhelmed by the support to bring Kevin back home and to have the opportunity to farewell her beloved husband and father to Ivy and her soon-to-be bub – due early February 2024.”
Malligan’s family revealed on Wednesday that he had been declared brain-dead, and that they had made the decision to turn off his life support.
The Sydney father’s story triggered an outpouring of generous donations, with almost $122,000 raised through the GoFundMe campaign to help with medical costs and to fly him home to Australia.
