Kings’ Arvidsson leaves game vs. Blue Jackets after suffering lower-body injury

Los Angeles Kings forward Viktor Arvidsson was forced to leave Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets after suffering a lower-body injury.

The 30-year-old Swede played just one shift in the first period — recording 17 seconds of ice time — before heading to the Kings’ locker room.

He was not on the ice to begin the second period and the team subsequently announced he would not return.

Tuesday’s game was just Arvidsson’s fourth of the season. He made his season debut on Feb. 15 after missing the first four months of play while recovering from a back surgery he underwent in October.

The 10-year NHL veteran recorded 59 points (26 goals and 33 assists) over 77 regular-season games with the Kings in 2022-23. He added another seven points (one goal and six assists) in seven playoff appearances.
