MANILA, Philippines — Justin Brownlee confirmed that he is taking his act to Indonesia as an overseas player.

Asked about the reports about his signing to a team in the Indonesian Basketball League, the Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player said he would be playing overseas but politely declined to discuss the details of his upcoming stint.

“Yeah, I will be playing abroad. I should be leaving on Sunday,” Brownlee told reporters.

Gilas and Ginebra coach Tim Cone confirmed that his longtime player is taking his act abroad but he remained committed to Ginebra for the next season and national team.

“We’re happy for him. Gives him some extra income and helps him stay sharp and in shape. He’ll be back for Ginebra in the next import conference, or in June for Gilas,” Cone said.

Brownlee watched the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference matches on Sunday and got to meet one of his “favorite” players in Sisi Rondina, who led Choco Mucho to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 win over Cignal on Thursday at PhilSports Arena.
