Few women have hair that’s as famous or iconic as Jennifer Aniston. The Friends star put her “The Rachel” layered midi cut on the map and made it one of the most copied hairstyles of the ‘90s. And it’s inspired a whole new generation more recently with #therachel picking up over 18 million views on TikTok as millennials and Gen Z have taken the chop for another spin.
It seems Jen herself is the only one who’s moved on. Since The Rachel, she’s given us poker-straight liquid hair, and more recently, she’s made lightly layered chest-length strands her signature. But the actress took the opportunity to shake things up at the Golden Globes 2024 red carpet, where she debuted the shortest chop we’ve seen from her in years.
Cropping her hair to her collarbone, the length is the closest she’s been to her most famous cut in a long time. But for her own rendition of The Rachel 3.0, Aniston introduced one crucial difference: it’s way less choppy. Aside from some shorter face-framing pieces, it appears the rest of her lob is all one length.
