Investigation under way after man plunges 5m from Rosebery unit balcony

A 50-year-old man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after falling from a balcony in Rosebery on Saturday night.

He suffered head, chest and pelvic injuries, and was left with gashes on his legs and forehead after he plunged from the unit complex on Rosebery Ave about 9.40pm.

It is understood the man fell up to five metres, NSW Police said.

He was treated at the scene and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in critical condition, NSW Ambulance said. He was reported to be stable on Sunday.

The circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation.
