Hunt for man after delivery and taxi driver stabbed in Redfern, Sydney

Police are looking for a man after a food delivery driver and taxi driver were allegedly stabbed in two separate incidents in Sydney.

Both the incidents happened in the inner suburb of Redfern before midnight on Friday, January 19.

The taxi driver and food delivery driver were both taken to hospital in stable conditions.

NSW Police said in the first incident, a 38-year-old taxi driver was allegedly stabbed at the intersection of Walker and James streets.

The taxi driver told police a man opened the front passenger door of his car, leaned inside and allegedly stabbed him in the chest before running away.

In the second incident, a 25-year-old food delivery driver was allegedly stabbed twice in the back.

He was released from hospital on Saturday morning.

NSW Police described a man they wish to speak to as being aged 20 to 30 years old with a dark complexion, thin build and brown hair.

They said the man was wearing black shorts, white sneakers with blue detailing, and a black cap at the time of the incident, however, he may now be wearing a black top as well.
