Summer may have come to an end but that doesn’t mean our favourite treats to eat in warmer weather have to disappear too.

If you’re as much of an ice cream and gelato fiend as me, you’ll know that trying to get a scoop of your favourite artisanal flavours isn’t cheap.

So what better way to save money — and time searching for the perfect shop — when you can make it at home?

Ninja has released its CREAMi Ice Cream Maker for “gelato, mix-ins, milkshakes, sorbet and smoothie bowls” and you can purchase it on Amazon Australia for $264.

Everyday ingredients like fruit, cream and milk can be transformed in seconds to delicious desserts and drinks with the easy-to-use button system.

And it’s small enough to hide in a cupboard when not in use.

You can customise your flavour and texture by mixing in your favourite chocolate, nuts, lollies, fruit and more, to personalise any of your treats.

Unlike traditional ice cream makers, Ninja’s innovative “creameriser system” finely shaves and churns ice particles into creamy frozen treats in minutes without leaving clumps behind.

The new device is making waves on social media, with parents in particular loving how affordable — and in some cases, healthier — the DIY device makes your ice cream experience.

“We’ve only had this for a week but already we’ve made so many yummy ice creams and sorbets! So easy and so much fun. Make sure you get some more containers for iced treats in the freezer whenever you want,” one woman wrote.

“I got suckered into buying this after watching too many YouTube videos. Honestly I’m glad I did because this thing is amazing,” said another.

“Store bought yoghurt becomes creamy frozen yoghurt. A tin of peaches becomes smooth sorbet. Milk and pudding mix turns into soft serve.”

A third added: “This is great for making a great range of refreshing iced desserts. It’s easy to use and clean and looks neat on the bench top. I love it!”

So if you’re hankering to give it a try, head over to Amazon Australia to read more about it.
