Dietitian shares the best foods for fat loss you can find at Aldi

From probiotic powders to collagen-infused bars, healthy eating can seem expensive, but the good news is that it doesn’t have to be.

According to the Aussie dietitian and mum Leanne Ward, you can actually pick up a bunch of affordable foods which are great for fat loss from the discount store, Aldi.

Leanne explained in a now-viral video that “obviously fresh food like fruits, vegetables and lean proteins, wholegrains, legumes and healthy fats are the number one priority for health and fat loss”.

However, she said she and many of her clients “enjoy packaged and quick supermarket options too”, and you shouldn’t be worried about eating these.

First on Leanne’s shopping list for healthy packaged food is stir-fry veggie kits from Aldi.

The Brisbane dietitian explained they were a “great base for meals and are an easy way to get more vegetables in” to your diet.

Next up, Leanne recommended packaged protein from Aldi such as fresh salmon as it’s “a tasty protein option to support your metabolism”.

The dietitian also recommended Moser Roth Finest Dark Sea Salt Chocolate, which comes in individual mini bars, as she said it is a perfect treat because it is “portion controlled”.

Leanne is also a fan of Aldi’s Mediterranean Vegetable Dip or Salsa, as you can dip fresh veggie sticks into it for a low-calorie snack.

Aldi’s plain Greek yoghurt was another one of her favourites as it is high protein and will help keep you fuller for longer.

When it came to snacks, Leanne recommended Cobbs’ individual popcorn bags and tinned chickpeas for a fibre-filled treat.

If you want a sweet drink without the calories, the dietitian recommended Aldi’s flavoured sparkling waters — which are a lower-calorie drink option.

Leanne said she was also a fan of tinned salmon and tuna as other easy protein options, as well as Aldi’s low-carb bread and wholegrain mini wraps.

“They make great, easy meal bases,” she explained.

When it came to the frozen section of Aldi, Leanne’s top picks included frozen berries for “antioxidants” as well as frozen vegetables and healthy frozen meals.

Lastly, Leanne suggested for those wanting a sweet treat after dinner to try the Twisted mini frozen milk chocolate ice blocks, which contain zero added sugar.

The dietitian’s video received more than 47,000 views on Instagram and people in the comments were loving her healthy hacks from Aldi.

“This is great, I am definitely heading to Aldi, to check these out,” said one.

“This is so helpful, thank you,” said another.

“Thank you, I love Aldi. Definitely a lot cheaper than the other supermarkets,” said a third.
