Diddy associate pleads not guilty to drug charge

(NewsNation) — An associate of Sean “Diddy” Combs pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine in a Florida courthouse Wednesday.

Brendan Paul has been accused of being a drug mule for Combs and was arrested Monday. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office filed a charge of possessing cocaine but dropped a charge of possessing a controlled substance.

Paul was not present, but his attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Police body camera footage showed Paul’s arrest for carrying cocaine and marijuana-laced candy, according to an arrest affidavit.

Combs is facing a civil lawsuit alleging he engaged in sex trafficking and illegal distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms. Paul, 25, is identified as being a mule for drugs and guns in the suit.

Previously, Homeland Security agents raided Combs’ homes in Miami Beach and Los Angeles, reportedly in connection with an investigation into sex trafficking.

An attorney for Combs said he is innocent and will continue to fight the case against him.
