Devils defenceman Jonas Siegenthaler suffers broken foot

New Jersey Devils defenceman Jonas Siegenthaler broke his foot in Saturday’s game versus the Canucks, coach Lindy Ruff revealed postgame.

Siegenthaler will reportedly be out for a while, but no specific timeline has been set.

The 26-year-old was injured while blocking a shot in the second period. While the Swiss international managed to finish his shift, a trainer and teammate Erik Haula had to help him to the bench.

The news comes hours after the Devils announced that forward Timo Meier was placed on injured reserve. As injuries pile for Ruff’s squad, they may have to seek reinforcements ahead of Thursday’s game against the Lightning.
