Coles supermarket drops price on lamb chops to lowest in four years

Coles supermarket has dropped the price on more than 300 products in store and online, with the cost of one favourite lamb buy now the lowest in four years.

For the next two weeks, customers can pick up Coles Australian Lamb Loin Chops for just $16 per kilo, a saving of more than 25 per cent – the lowest since 2000. Australian Lamb Cutlets have also been slashed to just $29 per kilo, saving customers $5 per kilo until 23 January.

The supermarket giant is also launching 12 weeks of Down Down prices across its No Added Hormone Australian Beef selected steaks range.

The reduced beef buys include:

  • Coles Beef Sizzle Steak 400g – now $11, down from $13, saving 15 per cent
  • Coles Beef Rump Steak – now $22 per kilo, down from $28, saving 21 per cent
  • Coles Beef Porterhouse Steaks 2pk 450g – now $14, down from $18, saving 22 per cent (Victoria, Tasmania, Northern Territory and South Australia only)
  • Coles Beef Scotch Steak Fillet 480g 2pk – now $16 down from $22, saving 20 per cent (New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia only)

Coles has also slashed the price on a wide range of back-to-school foods, cleaning products and everyday essentials.

“Our customers are seeking lower prices and immediate value more than ever. We’ve lowered the price on a variety of essentials and customer favourites including a selection of household staples such as cheese, coffee, pasta, dishwashing tablets, baby needs and more,” Coles Executive General Manager Fresh Andy Mossop said.

“On top of thousands of weekly specials that provide great value and variety, these additional summer savings on hundreds of popular products are another way Coles is helping to keep healthy meals affordable and make budgets go further.

“Providing quality food and drink to our customers is at the heart of what we do, and it’s our priority to continue to work hard to deliver good prices and great value for customers.”
