Police in California’s Bay Area arrested multiple suspects following recent thefts at Apple stores, including a man accused of stealing 50 iPhones.

The caller told police that the suspect stole phones worth approximately US$49,000 and left the scene in a vehicle.

A day later, video of the theft was shared to social media. In the clip, a masked man is seen ripping away iPhones tethered to display tables and quickly tucking them inside his pants and pockets as store security sirens wail.

He then exits the store and walks past an unoccupied police cruiser before jumping into a getaway vehicle.

On Wednesday, Emeryville and Berkeley police officers, along with the California Highway Patrol, arrested three people following a theft from an Apple store in Berkeley earlier in the day.
