“Today marks our 15th wedding anniversary! And today, I can make a choice. I can wallow in sorrow or I can celebrate it,” she shared in an Instagram message.  “I call this the ‘remarkable reframe.’ What I know is there is so much to celebrate. Our union and connection is probably stronger than ever. We have two bright, fun and healthy daughters. We have a family unit that is built on mutual respect and admiration. And simply, I just love and adore the man I married.”

She concluded the post by saying she is “proud” of their relationship.

“I’m so proud of what we have and continue to create. So, happy crystal anniversary to us! 💞”

The couple were married in Turks and Caicos on March 21, 2009, and share two daughters: Evelyn, 9, and Mabel, 11.

The former model’s heartfelt tribute to the dementia-stricken Die Hard star comes as he celebrated his 69th birthday earlier this week.

“Just like you, we simply adore him. What you might not know, but maybe you could imagine, that being wrapped in his arms is the safest place in this whole wide world,” Emma captioned a snap of him holding one of his daughters. “He’s a true gentle-man. With so much love to give and share. That’s what I get to see, his true core. I can tell you, it’s so pure and ever so good.”

Willis’ ex Demi Moore, who was married to the actor from 1987 to 2000, also honoured his big day by sharing a photo of the two of them clasping hands and writing, “Happy birthday, BW! We love you and are so grateful for you.”

Willis stepped away from acting in March 2022 after his family revealed he was suffering from aphasia — a neurological affliction that leaves a person unable to communicate.

But his condition worsened and last year his family confirmed that the father of five is suffering from frontotemporal dementia.

“FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can strike anyone,” the Moonlighting star’s loved ones wrote in a statement on the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration website.

Earlier this month, Emma said that following the horrific diagnosis, Bruce and his family have embarked on a “new chapter.”

“There is grief and sadness. There’s all of that. But you start a new chapter,” she said, adding that her family’s life is now filled “with love, it’s filled with connection, it’s filled with joy, it’s filled with happiness.”

But Moonlighting creator Glenn Gordon Caron, who is still close with Willis, said that the actor’s love of life is slipping away as his dementia progresses rapidly.

“The thing that makes [his disease] so mind-blowing is [that] if you’ve ever spent time with Bruce Willis, there is no one who had any more joie de vivre than he,” Caron told the New York Post last fall. “He loved life and … just adored waking up every morning and trying to live life to its fullest … When you’re with him you know that he’s Bruce and you’re grateful that he’s there, but the joie de vivre is gone.”
