Brooke Warne writes heartfelt message to late father Shane Warne on two-year anniversary of his death

Brooke Warne, the eldest daughter of late Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, has posted a tear-jerking tribute to her famous dad on the two-year anniversary of his tragic death.

Shane Warne died on holiday in Thailand late on March 4, 2022, when he suffered cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

Australia froze in utter shock waking up to the news the next morning, and is still coming to terms with his incomprehensible absence, two years on.

He is survived by his three children, Brooke, Jackson and youngest Summer.

On Monday, Brooke penned a heartfelt post in honour of her dad.

“Two years today, dad,” she wrote.

“It’s been the slowest and quickest two years without you.

“I feel like you were just here being silly with us and talking about how good the new season of Peaky Blinders is and we will watch the next episode together when you come home.

“Life really doesnt make sense without you here. We try and do you proud every day.

“I miss you, I love you forever.”

When the King of Spin’s death certificate was published by the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages Victoria, it was confirmed that he died of “coronary artery atherosclerosis”.

The health condition relates to the build up of plaque within the heart causing the narrowing or complete blockages of arteries, and as a result, may lead to a heart attack.

It was previously revealed that Warne had suffered chest pains and recently saw a doctor about his heart.

The death certificate listed Warne’s occupation as a “business owner” and his place of death as Thailand.

Warne was discovered by his friend and business partner Andrew Neophitou, who he was supposed to be meeting for a drink and dinner.

The cricketer was sober at the time of his death, according to his manager James Erskine, while Thai police said the room was clean of alcohol or cigarettes.

Jackson’s posthumous discovery

It’s no secret that Warne was a fanatical golfer.

He famously hit a hole-in-one on the par-three 16th at the iconic Augusta National, the home of golf’s holy grail, The Masters.

And while it will surprise nobody that he had all the gear to match his obsession, just how much he had shocked even his son Jackson.

Joining 7Cricket’s commentary during the second session of Australia’s Boxing Day Test against Pakistan in December, Jackson said he and his sisters were blown away when they discovered his collection of golf clubs.

“We’re going through, at the moment, some of his storage units — because he’s just got storage units full of stuff. He just collected and collected and collected,” Warne said on commentary with Seven.

“And some of the stuff we’re going through at the moment is golf clubs. And I am not kidding, he has probably got 300 drivers, 400 putters, 50 million golf bags — there is just an abundance of stuff.”
