British Army withdraws listing of Catherine, Princess of Wales’ appearance at Trooping the Colour event

The British Army has removed from its website the listing of Catherine, Princess of Wales as attending a Trooping the Colour event on June 8.

The army’s site had originally listed Kate as attending the “Colonels’ Review” — part of the annual military events that mark the official birthday of the British Sovereign.

The Trooping the Colour is comprised of three events, performed in June regardless of the monarch’s actual birth date (King Charles was born in November.)

The most famous pageantry, known as The King’s Birthday Parade, will this year be held on June 15.

On June 8, Kate had been listed as ‘taking the salute’ for the event known as the Colonel’s Review.

But Kensington Palace had never confirmed her appearance at that event.

Kate, 42, is recuperating from abdominal surgery in January, and is not expected to return to public duties until after Easter, which is at the end of March.

The British Army has now removed mention of Kate from the section of its website related to Trooping the Colour.

Kensington Palace has said it will confirm after Easter any future appearances of the Princess of Wales.

Kate left hospital on January 29 after undergoing what the palace described as “planned abdominal surgery”.

She is recuperating at her Adelaide Cottage home close to Windsor Castle.

At the time the palace revealed the news, on January 17, it said Kate would be stepping back from royal duties until about Easter.

No details of the surgery were given, but a palace spokesman said the condition was “non-cancerous”.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” a statement said in January.

“She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”

On Tuesday, Kate was spotted for the first time in images showing her wearing sunglasses, sitting in the front seat of a car being driven by her mother, Carole Middleton.

Meanwhile, King Charles has also stepped away from major public-facing duties while undergoing cancer treatment.

HIs cancer diagnosis came after he had unelated surgery in January for an enlarged prostate.

The British Army also had Charles listed to attend the reviewing of the troops during the final parade on June 15.

However, like Kate, his attendance was never confirmed.

Buckingham Palace has not indicated when the King is expected to return to full-time work.
