Body of 36-year-old missing man found in vent inside Michigan community college

The body of a man missing in the US state of Michigan since October has been found — in the ventilation system at a community college.

Jason Anthony Thompson, 36, had disappeared last month, and his family reported him missing on November 1.

His body was found at a campus building at the Macomb Community College on Sunday after authorities were called to investigate a “foul odour”.

College police are awaiting a cause of death from the Macomb County medical examiner.

“There is no reason to suspect foul play,” the school’s police Chief William Leavens said.

Thompson was not affiliated with the school, college spokesperson Jeanne M Nicol said.

She could not say how he got access to the performing arts building because the investigation is ongoing.

“The college community extends heartfelt condolences during this difficult time to Thompson’s family and friends,” Nicol said.

The man’s family last saw him on October 25.
