“We regret to announce Bistrot 916 will soon cease operations to accommodate an impending real estate development,” restaurant team Dan Pepperell, Michael Clift and Andy Tyson said.
“As we prepare to dim the lights and await the approaching wrecking ball, we invite you for a final celebratory soirée.
“We would like to send our deepest gratitude to all of our incredible staff past and present and to our beautiful customers, it has been our pleasure.”
They did not reveal when the final “celebratory soirée” would be held — until now.
Pepperell, Clift and Tyson confirmed the last service will be held on November 3 in a follow-up Instagram post on Sunday.
“We would like to once again thank our extraordinary staff past and present and to our incredible customers, merci oui oui!”
Bistrot 916 opened in 2021 on 22 Challis St in Potts Point and is being affected by development at 61-63 Macleay St.
The development will include “demolition of parts of the existing building, excavation, construction of a new basement level beneath the building, alterations and additions to the existing building, including two additional storeys, 18 hotel rooms and associated landscape works”, according to the development application lodged with the City of Sydney Council.
The site was previously owned by Merivale, but was sold in 2019.
