Getting fitter and faster is always towards the top of my New Year’s resolutions list.

But if you’re anything like me, it’s hard to stick to our best intentions without indulging in a little retail therapy to look and feel the part.

Running from now until the end of the year, shoppers can snap up a number of reduced items from tops and leggings to running shoes — all with up to 60 per cent off.

My personal picks in the sale include my go-to running shoe, the ASICS Gel-Kayano 30 — which has been reduced from $280 to $252 in the sale.

Since launching in 1973, Gel-Kayanos have become one of the most popular running shoes around.

The Gel-Kayano 30s are bigger and bouncier looking than previous iterations, with a much chunkier mid-sole.

Many have compared the look to HOKA trainers, which are often large and cloud-like in their appearance.

This change in look to Gel-Kayanos of old contributes to an even more comfortable and supportive shoe when you put it on.

But thankfully the shoes are still lightweigh enough (at around 257 grams) to hit a PB – so you won’t feel like you have to drag your trainers around when running a race in them.

Other highlights from a running perspective in the sale include the Brooks Glycerin 21, reduced from $280 to $224, and ON Running Cloud 5, reduced from $230 to $196.

There are also HOKA, New Balance and Nike shoes available to browse at the Pace Athletic website among other top brands.

From a clothing perspective, I’ve got my eyes on these ON Running Shorts, down to $66 from $110.

I’m always looking for breathability in my running tops when running in Australia, and this ON Running Active Breathe T-Shirt, down to $80 from $100, also looks to be a solid investment.

You can also find plenty of discounted Patagonia items on the Pace Athletic website — all of which are perfect for hiking, camping and other outdoors-y pursuits.

I also love Under Armour’s activewear, and there is plenty to browse onsite.

Established in 2013, Pace Athletic now has seven thriving locations across greater Sydney — and it has become a favourite store in the running community.

Their journey began ten years ago with a simple yet profound idea: to create a haven for runners, where expertise, quality products, and community converge.
