Best hair treatment for colour dyed hair: Redken acidic bonding concentrate shampoo and conditioner

I’ve been dying my hair for close to a decade now and in that time I’ve tested out quite a few bond building hair treatments.

Olaplex has long been touted as the game-changer in this space and I was an avid devotee to its No.3 Hair Perfector for many years, finding that it did a great job of keeping my locks strong during the course of a number of blonde dye jobs.

More recently it was K18 that shone in this space, and I thoroughly enjoyed the fact it was technically a leave-in conditioner and cut out the conditioning step from my shower routine.

But most recently when I went to visit my hairdresser he said, while my hair is in good condition, it is a little bit dry overall and I’d be doing myself a favour if I used Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate.

I’ve heard of these products but not trialled them myself but he was adamant they were better than both Olaplex and K18 combined.

“This hair bonding regimen uses Redken’s Hair Bonding Care Complex to strengthen the weakened bonds of hair, improving its strength and resilience,” the website reads.

“By using the at-home three-step hair system of the Acidic Bonding Shampoo, Acidic Bonding Conditioner and the Acidic Bonding Leave-In Treatment, Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate’s pH-balancing formula infuses hair with the conditioning it needs to repair hair.

“Redken’s hair bonding system is also sulfate-free making it perfect for colour treated hair.”

To purchase the trio, it’s $132.45 on Amazon Australia.

“This product is amazing. Hair seems healthy in just one wash. Hair is much easier to handle and the leave in conditioner ensures hair remains smooth. Highly recommend this product,” one woman wrote by way of review.

“This is the best bond protector I’ve ever used. I have bleached highlights and have had no breakage since using,” said another.

A third added: “I have quite fine and soft hair that’s easily damaged. Using this shampoo and conditioner has helped keep the integrity of my hair”.
