Best cream blush sticks for a natural finish: Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics launches epic $69.95 product

I made a decision late last year to try to start incorporating more natural makeup brands into my beauty case.

And when you search natural and sustainable makeup, the brand Youngblood comes up time and time again.

In an effort to dip my toes into the 100 per cent mineral makeup brand, I decided to test out its new Vividluxe Creme Blush Sticks, which are especially crafted for cheeks and lips.

I’ve tested out the Westman Atelier blush sticks most recently, and despite being natural, the brand’s prices are much higher than Youngblood’s, with a single blush stick $12 more expensive.

So although they are an investment, the moment you feel the packaging and see the colour pay off, you’ll realise why.

The Creme Blush Sticks are richly pigmented and made to complement a broad range of skin tones.

Best Picks Editor Sophie trialled the latest pink shades — Creme Brulee, Parfait and Pink Prosecco — while I tested Bellini, Mulberry, Pomelo, Sorbet and Tiramisu.

And while at their core these products are “makeup”, they’re so skincare-produced with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, peptides and niacinamide that you’ll be improving your skin each time you use them.

I tested out a layer of Bellini followed by Mulberry before work this morning and managed to create a plum-like peachy tone to my upper cheekbones that hasn’t dulled in colour hours later.

The shades are very easy to blend out because it’s a cream product to its core and a little goes a long way.

Meanwhile Sophie had a similar story to tell with the lighter pink tones, saying she preferred them to her usual choice of “Happy” from Rare Beauty.

When Youngblood announced the new arrivals on Instagram there was a flurry of praise.

“Pink Prosecco and Parfait look like they’d be beautiful bridal lip colours,” one woman wrote.

“Love them all but especially Sorbet right now!” said another.

A third added: “We can’t get over how much pigment these pack! (And for skincare!)“
