Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands forced to deny using Ozempic for weight loss

Australian Idol judge and radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands has followed in the footsteps of co-host Jackie “O” Henderson in denying Ozempic is responsible for his recent rapid weight loss.

The 52-year-old father-of-one has shed the kilos in recent weeks, prompting speculation he was using the diabetic appetite suppressant drug, used by many celebrities to lose weight.

During the Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS FM on Thursday morning, it was the show’s own newsreader, Brooklyn Ross, who dropped the bombshell accusation.

“My mum asked me if you’re on Ozempic, Kyle,” Ross said.

Showing a picture of Sandilands’ slimmed-down physique, the radio star laughed and answered: “It’s just a good angle of me”.

Ross seemed unconvinced.

“Maybe I’ve stopped eating as much bread and drinking Coca Cola,” Sandilands continued.

Henderson quickly jumped in to defend her radio co-star.

“You always come back from the (Christmas) break a little bit skinnier because you’ve been healthier… You’re less into the 12 coffees,” she said.

Sandilands added that while on holiday, his wife Tegan made sure he ate healthily.

“And my wife … I go, ‘Can you bring me a chocolate Paddle Pop?’ and a salad shows up,” he said.

“And I get angry, but I just eat it anyway because it’s been given to me.”

Henderson also addressed the rumours about her Ozempic use during Thursday’s show.

“Does your mother think I’ve been on Ozempic?” she asked Brooklyn Ross.

“Yeah, she does,” Ross admitted.

“Everyone does,” Sandilands added.

“I can’t convince anyone, can I?” Henderson said.

“Like, I don’t care but I just wish people would know that if I was (on Ozempic), I’d just say it at this point.

“There’s nothing stopping me from saying it and I would say it, but I can’t convince people otherwise.”

Henderson praised Sandilands’ wife for “looking after her husband” and encouraging him to eat healthily.

“She has your best interests at heart,” she said.

“So, you do look good, keep it going, get on the Ozempic, Kyle!”

Sandilands said he didn’t care about being thin.

“But I think you’d like it,” Henderson said.

“I think a lot of your health issues would go away, honestly.

“All your doctors have said that.”

Sounding grumpy, Sandilands responded: “Look, you guys have no medical experience!”

“I don’t take advice from either of you two.”

Henderson has been forced to deny the Ozempic rumours on numerous occasions after her spectacular 18kg weight loss.

Early in 2023, she addressed the rumours in an interview for Stellar’s Something to Talk About podcast.

“When the Ozempic rumours first came out, I was like, ‘Oh, are you joking?’” she said.

“I know how hard I’ve worked, and I haven’t taken (it).

“I was frustrated when those (rumours) were coming out, and I found the more I was defending myself, the more I felt, OK, this is a losing battle.”
