“See you next year,” she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, which included images in a recording studio along with a video where a friend off screen asks her “have you been working hard … is this almost the last day of this album?” Grande responds, “I’m so tired,” and laughs. “But so happy and grateful. I also feel like I weigh 3,000 tons.”

Along with new music, the 30-year-old pop superstar will also star in a film adaptation of Wicked alongside Cynthia Erivo and Michelle Yeoh, which is due out in theatres later next year.

The new set of songs will be her first since the dissolution of her marriage to real estate agent Dalton Gomez.

Grande is currently dating Ethan Slater and hit out at people that have made “assumptions” about their relationship.

“I have never felt more pride of joy or live while simultaneously feeling so deeply misunderstood by people who don’t know me, who piece whispers together and make what they want out of me and their assumptions of my life,” she wrote in a lengthy message posted to her Instagram Story.

“I have never felt more tightly held or fiercely protected by those who love and understand me (friends, family, and fans alike). I feel safe, even amidst so many things I’d usually be afraid of. I am listening to and trusting myself, even when fear or trauma tells me not to,” she continued.

Heading into the New Year, Grande told fans she’s only “reacting to things that deserve my energy” and “protecting myself from things that do not.”
